My wife Eve Biddle and I designed these murals on the exterior of PS 54 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

The sea creatures swim through a pattern inspired by the style of hoodie sweatshirts that kids in the neighborhood were wearing at the time of the mural's design. We selected the images that compose the pattern from drawings made by the students in the school.

The murals are located at the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Hart Street in Brooklyn, right near the Bedford-Nostrand stop on the G train. Check out the map below. Coincidentally, my grandmother and her six siblings grew up only a few blocks away on Stockton Street.
