Thank You
drawings and billboard series, 48' x 15'
2020
My wife Eve Biddle and I created this public art project in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This work was commissioned by Kearny Point, a values driven commercial development.
The images weredisplayed on a 48 foot wide digital billboard in Kearny, NJ, visible from Truck Route 1/9 between Newark and Jersey City, here.
Our good friend Frances modeled remotely for the first image, shown above. Frances is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at NYU Langone Medical Center, and worked tirelessly to help patients receive rehab for COVID while in quarantine herself. This kind of bravery runs in her family-her mother, aunt and multiple cousins are nurses. Frances' friendship with Josh goes back to high school and she is also our daughter's godmother.
A few of the drawings from this project were buried in a vitrine on the grounds of the The Re Institute, in Millerton, NY, as part of their deeply moving exhibition "Together In Isolation" which offered a meditation on the COVID-19 pandemic.
