drawings and billboard series, 48' x 15'
2020

My wife Eve Biddle and I created this public art project in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our friend Frances modeled for the image above. She's a Doctor of Physical Therapy at NYU Langone Medical Center, and helped patients receive COVID rehab while in quarantine herself. This kind of bravery runs in her family—her mother, aunt and multiple cousins are nurses. Frances' friendship with Josh goes back to high school and she is also our daughter's godmother.

The images were displayed on a 48 foot wide digital billboard in Kearny, NJ, visible from Truck Route 1/9 between Newark and Jersey City, here. This work was commissioned by Kearny Point.

A few of the drawings from this project were buried in a vitrine on the grounds of the The Re Institute, in Millerton, NY, as part of their deeply moving exhibition "Together In Isolation" which offered a meditation on the COVID-19 pandemic.
